The Rosette Swap Reveal!!!

Hello My SpaRkLy Friends!

Do you know what Wednesday was???

Well, besides being the most embarrassing day of my life, it was the

Rosette Swap Reveal!!!

So WHY you may ask was this day a day of high level embarrassment
Tobi??

Well my sparkly friends, here's the lowdown...

I entered the
Rosette swap
and
Guess who
sent me my
Rosette???

JILL-

yes-

  Gypsy Brocante herself..

QUEEN of the Rosettes!!!!

Boy was I blessed!!!

I ripped into my package like a kid at Christmas to find a
BIG PINK GYPSY ROSETTE
pinned on a
GYPSY
VINTAGE
PINK
TIE DyED
Slip DRESS!!!

"OHBOY OHBOY OHBOY!"

I exclaimed as my daughter
Ashley
came running in to see what the commotion was all about.

"Oh my gosh MOM, that is beautiful"!

she said as she gently plied it out of my clenched fingers.

"Of COURSE it's Beautiful...
It's a GYPSY SLIP DRESS
like in her shop!!!!

"Mom- LET GO!  I just want to see it I won't hurt it!"

"OK, I said as I let go of my prize still in disbelief that
my swap partner was
GYPSY JILL
who sent me one of her
FAMOUS
Slip Dresses!!

"Try it on"
I said as I pulled out my iphone.

"I need to take pictures for my post"

So we did a mini photo shoot, and I wrote a killer post all about my beautiful
 Rosette Gypsy Slip Dress
and
tonight when I went to post it
IT WAS GONE!
Now normally that wouldn't be so bad, I would just re write it
except for
one BIG problema-
Um.....
The slip part is in
AUSTRIA
with my daughter
ASHLEY.
You know,
the one I have been crying over for the past week?

So now all I have to show everyone is

my
Beautiful
Gypsy
ROSETTE.

So I did another photo shoot
but
this time
I used the
PIXIES.

They have all been fighting over it anyway,
So here it is in all of it's
ROSETTE GLORY!!!

Just look at the detail!!!

So a HUGE
Thank you
to Beautiful Jill!!!

Pink From the heart and the Miracle of Forgiveness.

Image from http://www.jellydesigns.com/photography/flowers-nature/pink_sunset.html

Hello My SpArKly Friends, and a joyous Pink Saturday to you all.

As you know, this Pink Saturday is a day of sharing things that inspire us in order to celebrate Colette's Miracle makeover.
Today I would like to share the miracle of forgiveness, in which an ordinary man in extraordinary circumstances chose to become and empty vessel in which to let God touch people's lives and help them heal.
I turned off the Pixie music temporarily for this weekend so you can hear the video.
(After this weekend, just click on the video to have it take you to youtube so you can hear it)

I found this quite by accident... while fretting over what to post about for this Pink Saturday! Although I am not a Mormon,  I am now sure it wasn't an accident finding it...
 it was an answer.

I hope you find it as inspiring as I did.

Dear Father, please keep my  heart always open so that I may be a worthy vessel for you to use to spread your message of love.

I miss my little munchkin!!!

I said goodbye to my daughter Ashley this Tuesday,
she moved to Strobl, Austria (Pictured above) to start a new chapter in her life.
She has been staying with me for a month now, so it has been really hard to stop crying because everything I do now reminds me of her.
I am so happy for her even if it is sad for me cause I miss her so much.  That is why the video in my Pink Saturday Post (The next post after this one) was so inspiring for me.  It really put things in perspective and helped to remind me to not get so caught up in my thoughts and to really appreciate that I still have her even if she is so far away.  I talk to her on Skype and see her little face so very happy to be there and her beau so happy that his love is now with him.  I try to get myself excited that I will get to visit her in her new beautiful country!

I am still feeling a little blue though, I think I may be starting "The Changes" as they say cause I am such a weepy Pixie.  Does menopause make you an emotional train wreck? I will be 50 this January 21st so I guess it's about time.
I am hoping that I can use that as excuse for my..
um... "Colorful Mood Swings?.. .

I am so very grateful for all of you, my sparkly bloggy sisters.  In the few short months that I have been blogging, I have fallen in love with having this "bloggy family" I honestly don't know how I managed before!
Thank you all for being out there, and being my friend.

Pink Halloween!

Hello My SpaRkLy FrIeNds!
Happy Pink Saturday to you!
It's a well known fact that
me and the Pixies
love
to create
Pretty, sparkly, frilly,
frou frou
things
here at the
Pink Pixie Forest.

My daughter Ashley inherited mom's creativity and
love of all things
PINK...
with one exception-

Ashley likes to take pink pretty things
and add her own
UniQue, Special
Twist...
She likes to make them scary.

Ok, Let me "splain"!

Ash is a huge fan of classic
Horror Movies.
Following in my footsteps, she trained to be a
Special Effects Makeup Artist.
When she asked me to help her open an Etsy Shop
for her
New Line Of
Vintage Inspired Aprons...
I was thrilled!
We went and got cute Cherry Fabric with a
Pink Background,
and that night I went to sleep while
she was downstairs busy on the sewing machine creating her
first Apron!!

It was a classic hostess apron
with a red ribbon edging and cute bows and
that Pink Cherry Fabric.
When I awoke the next morning,
I ran downstairs to see her creation
and much to my surprise
Her apron had a shocking and unusual twist...

Here's how the conversation went:

me: "Um, Ashley... why are the Cherries bleeding?"

Ash: "Because it's called "Cherry Pie Massacre"

me: "Why would anyone want to kill a cherry?"

Ash: "Who says anyone "Killed them"??
Maybe they just got together and decided to dress up for Halloween!
You know Mom, even sweet cherries like to dress up.
Besides, you have no idea how many people out there LOVE this kind of stuff! There is an entire subculture of horror movie fans that will buy anything having to do with it."

me: "Are you kidding me?? More people like pretty girly things... and making sweet cherries bleed is just... wrong. You are starting to scare me!"

She just rolled her eyes and went over to her mac and googled "psychobilly" on Etsy which I guess is Rockabilly people that like horror movies.

To my surprise, there were THOUSANDS of products and hundreds of Etsy Shops that catered to lovers of horror movies and Monsters!

To these people,
Halloween is All Year Long!
Go figure.

Here is another one of her
creations...
A
Scary
Cherry
Apron.

Although I would never think of making a Cherry
 "Scary"
I do think she is really creative... even if she doesn't put glitter on things!
And she will absolutely make a regular Pretty Apron special order
sans the frightful stuff!

Her Etsy Shop is called

Go visit her and see her other
Ghostly Creations
