Breast cancer Awareness- What Pink Saturday is all About This Month

Hello my Sparkly Friends,
I have been procrastinating like mad today.
Why? you may ask.
Because we have to write about
 Cancer Awareness
today
and
I really Hate Cancer.
I hate thinking about it.
I hate writing about it.

When it comes to cancer, I am an emotional Ostrich
 with my
head in the sand.
Maybe if I pretend it's not there it will just
go away.

It makes me think of watching my parents succumb to it,
and I feel guilty.
And I feel sad
because
I hate when people leave.
I feel guilty cause I wish I had made
better use of our time together.
But I was too busy trying to pretend there was nothing wrong.
What a Dummy.

Thank heavens the rest of the world isn't like me
when it comes to
cancer.

That's what Cancer Awareness
is all about-
getting our heads
out of the sand
and
doing something about it.

Talking about it.

Raising money to fund more research.

And stop procrastinating
and
Blogging about it...
Even if it
hurts
real
bad.

Cancer Really Stinks...
Let's Help Stop It.

So here is my Pink Addition
for
My Beloved
Pink Saturday

Yep, they're
Pink Poodle Trees.

And I just ate strawberry jam
right out of the jar
with a spoon.
(Well it is pink you know)

So please go visit our lovely hostess
to spread the pink word
today.
I will be washing the
sand out of
my feathers hair :)

  1. First of all that is the sweetest little girl! Happy Pink Saturday. So much has been done for Breast Cancer but so much more needs to be done. It is so wonderful even with this bad economy that we all can help a little. Grace xoxo

  2. Ironically, I just got back from my annual mammogram this morning. You know, where you come face-to-face with this mechanical alien who flattens your boob until it resembles a bleached white pancake. Then, they make you hold on to a bar so they can twist it so far you find yourself standing on your tippy toes holding on for dear life.

Can you imagine a man's face if he saw a woman going through this and then the doctor turned to him and said, "This is now how we're now going to check for testicular cancer"?!

  3. Your post being very poignant, has really made me think today. Do I help as many people as I can with encouragement who are going through cancer? I have friends who have it and I have made a real effort lately to do all I can to help them and pray for them daily. Your blog is very special, I love all of your pinkness. Have a great day.

  7. Good Morning Tobi Sweetie...
Oh what a precious share today. I love the ostrich story and it was written so beautifully. Yes you can certainly write sweetie. I loved, loved, loved this one.

The last picture of the little one getting her sand washed out is precious.

OMG Tobie, I SO love the pink poodle trees. Oh how exquisite they are. I remember my sweet Grandma had a little what not shelf and on that shelf, was a family of pink poodles. The Moma and 2 babies they had a chain going to each little one. I had forgotten until I saw your trees today. Oh my gosh sweetie, you gave me a beautiful memory today. Oh thank you SO much. I had so forgotten that memory.

You are such a beautiful friend. I thank you for sharing with me today, especially this beautiful memory day. I love you sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  11. Hi Tobi,

I've missed visiting with you so much. I haven't blogged a whole lot this summer but I'm working my way back. :0)

I received my new issue of Romantic Homes and I noticed your sweet ad as part of the Make Mine Pink network....good for you! I've looked at doing this at some point. I think the national exposure is such a grand approach....since we blog and speak to the world we may as well advertise and reach our entire country.

Your blog looks so enchanting and uplifting. I just love it. I hope for great things for The Pink Pixie Forest. ♥

I do hope you'll stop by for a visit and help me spread the word about my big giveaway.

    Have a wonderful day,
    Stephanie ♥

  12. Hi Tobi, Happy Pink Saturday (one day late)! Jill's comment cracked me up so much I had to leave a comment on her blog and forgot to hit "post a comment" here before I left. So, it's Jill's fault I'm a day late, lol!
Wonderful post today. It is not easy to talk about cancer but we do need to be diligent and aware.
Now as for those Pinkie Poodles, Mahvelous Darlin! Thank you for sharing, have a wonderful week, xxoo Nan
PS: stop by my blog if you get a sec., I offered a free download of my artwork yesterday!

  14. I hate the "C" word, too....but I'm going to to be brave and get the girls squished this month. (Ok, so there's nothing "brave" about it....I'm two months overdue for the squishing machine.)
