Bumble Bees Have Feelings too!

Pink saturday Bee
That's what I have to keep
telling myself every time one flies by me
so i don't freak out like a crackhead and start running and flapping my arms.

Bees have feelings.
Wasps have feelings....
I wasn't thinking that three weeks ago when I had to "call someone" to have our wasp problem taken care of.
 I confess my sparkly friends-
I hired a hit-man
to
"take care of a situation".
By situation I mean "not being able to go in and out of my house or car without being bullied by a flying stinging pissed off insect."
Wasps... Hate em.
Wasps are like
 Midlife crisis Men Driving Corvettes...
You really just need to stay away from them!
Ok,
Back to WASPS-
I know, I know- all life is to be respected and even scary wasps are part of the ecosystem.
just...
not that many-
-living in every orifice of my house-
-coming into my bedroom uninvited even though all of my windows are shut-
and
-trying to nest in my car door.
So needless to say I still felt tremendously guilty watching my gun for hire neutralize my situation.
Which brings me to Bumble bees.
I had a chance yesterday to do a good deed for a relative of those wasps yesterday
and I did!
I helped some Bumble bees.
Furry, chubby fat black and yellow bumbles, nesting in my garden.
You see, I was making this really swell circular bed
and picked up the fountain statue from my front bed
and heard a multiple buzzing sound.
Eeew.
I knew what that meant.
I carefully went over to where my statue had been
and there was a
bumble bee nest
newly exposed.

A funny thing happened...
Instead of freaking out, I felt bad for those
little rolly polly chubsters.
I went and got an empty flower pot
and gave it to them.
Heck- I was feeling so happy that I even
gave them a handful of tree stuff to help plug the holes.
Look at this adorable little bumble creeping around to find stuff to shore up the nest!

So I feel like I am a little closer to becoming
stinging insect tolerant.
At least
I know my flowers are happy...
Ok, I am too!

So Have a Sparkly Day my friends!!

Procrastination Update: "I'm simply saying that life, uh, finds a way."

"I'm simply saying that life...uh...finds a way"

My favorite quote spoken by
Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic park
when being
told how the park could
prevent the dinosaurs and Raptors from breeding.
Life,
my sparkly friends,
most certainly
finds a way
to keep going

in spite of
our plans.

Case in point:
my box of close to
a hundred packets of seeds-
the planting of which was on
my zero procrastination tolerance
list
of
things to do this year.

While I was busy doing all the other things on my to do list first,
I
left it out in the rain
got my box wet by accident
and a funny thing happened...
Um, my box started growing.
Yep-
seeds + water = baby plants
It was like they knew they might be
procrastinated till next year
and they just
rebelled-
took matters into their own roots-
The life in them
found
a
way.

I mean,
How beautiful
is
that??!

So of course, now that they were visibly alive,
I couldn't procrastinate them any longer
so
I planted them in big clumps all over the place
because i didn't want to separate them now that they were used to being so close...
it just seemed mean to separate them

So I am hoping to maybe have a gardening breakthrough in seed starting-
Just wet the packets
and
let life find a way!

Faded Charm Cottage for White Wednesday!!

Sparkly Hugs,Tobi and the Pixies!

Hello Outdoor Wednesday!!!

Here is the link to Outdoor Wednesday!

Hello My Sparkly Friends! It is Wednesday and I just signed up for Outdoor Wednesday because that's where all the Pixies are...when they are not making mischief in my shop that is!

My first Image is the poor little misunderstood Dandelion. She is actually very beautiful, except when her family takes over your lawn and makes the neighbors whisper. If you eat the young tender leaves, they are actually a great salad green as long as you are pesticide free.

This second image is of my little baby Grape Hyacinths popping up amidst the green carpet of moss. If you want to find fairies and Pixies- THIS is the place to look. If you look very closely, you may even catch a glimpse of some sparkle!

Please visit the other Outdoor Wednesday Participants and say Hey!!!
Sparkly Hugs,
Tobi and the Pixies!
